My sister passed along news of Greg’s illness this weekend, and I just wanted to send my thoughts and concern. Greg is a fantastic guy, and to hear him so suddenly (and alarmingly) beset by such a serious illness is saddening to say the least. When you get a chance we’d appreciate it if you could let him know that the whole Lonero clan is thinking of him.
All my best,
-Adam Lonero

I just received the terrible news about Greg. I know there's not much that can be said or done right now but I am thinking of him and hoping for a full recovery. Please pass on my best wishes to Frankie and thank you both for being there for Greg.

This is a poem that someone gave me during a difficult time. I keep it hanging by my desk and have always considered it a very grounding reminder about staying focused, moving forward, and relying on spirit during a time of trial. Whether you read it to Greg or share it with Phil or anyone else, I hope you like it.
SHORE AND GROUND
by Rumi
Keep walking, though there's no place to get to.
Don't try to see through the distances. That's not for human beings.
Move within, but don't move the way fear makes you move.
Today, like every other day, we wake up empty and frightened.
Don't open the door to the study
and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

To Greg
I remember exactly the last time I saw you, in Kensington Market with Frankie( the first time I had met her). I see you so clearly. And I'm sending all my energy to you and praying you will stay with us. All your people love you so much and they can't bear to lose you, so please keep up the fight and know that everyone is pulling and praying with all their might to keep you here with us. I love you Greg.

Please pass on to Greg and Frank that we are thinking of them
constantly and we are rooting for Greg to beat this illness -- he is
a strong guy, and I am confident that he has a lot of fight in him
yet. Jim and I were talking about the situation late into the night
and we both agree that he has brought an incredible amount of light and happiness into Frankie's life, so we need him to pull through.
Clearly, he has incredible friends. Hang in there.

Hi Carrie,
I hope the doctor's find out soon what is going on with Greg. I have spoken to many people who have a variety of beliefs and they are all praying, sending healing energy, or doing what their belief system motivates them to do for Greg and all of you who love him and are supporting him.
I have a package to send to you and I was wondering if you could give me an address to mail it to where you would be sure to get it. I am deeply touched every time I ask a person to help Greg and without knowing him I can see that they are moved to help. I was with a group of women in a meeting at a United Church of Christ today and we sat in a circle and sent prayers out for several people-Greg being on of them. I think we have many spiritual bases covered for Greg.

I'm doing all I can from Hong Kong to round up some spirits/gods/beings from the Eastern hemisphere and get them pulling for Greg! I'll light some incense at the Chinese temple behind my house tonight.
Love, Jane

Greg,
I know you only through the love of your sister-in-law, Carrie Bancroft, who has asked members of the Bainbridge Graduate Institute community to join your healing network. Please know that my family and I are holding you in our thoughts and prayers. We look forward to meeting you at Carrie's graduation!
Hang in there,
Jill Bamburg
